The Cigar Galaxy (also known as M 82 or NGC 3034) is an active galaxy situated in the Ursa Major constellation. It is located at 12 million light years away from us ad it is often associated with the bigger and more famous Bode Galaxy (M 81). The Cigar Galaxy is a great example of a starburst galaxy that is a galaxy in which take place violent stallar formation processes.
