Markarian's Chain is a "path" o galaxies part of Virgo Supercluster visible in the homonymous constellation.
Its name was given after B. E. Markarian, an astrophysicist that studied in depth these celestial bodies in the 60s.
The cluster includes, amongmany others, the galaxies: M84, M86, NGC 4477, NGC 4473, NGC 4461, NGC 4458, NGC 4438 and NGC 4435.
In the background, a trained eye, could see many more hundreds of faint galaxies spread all over the frame of the picture: they all belong to the previously mentioned cluster.
