M 57 is a tiny planetary nebula located in the constellation of Lyra: as the name Ring Nebula suggests, it appears as a bright gas ring.
Here is captured with the lucky imaging tecnique, especially designed to capture the best possible details of the subject by exposing just a few seconds in order to avoid atmospheric distorsions caused by air turbolence.
M 57 is situated at about 2300 l.y. form Earth and spans just 2,6 l.y. across.
